Welcome!
My name is Halen (pronounced "hey-lin") and I'm a graphic designer/artist. I've been working professionally in design since early 2023 and I'm currently earning my bachelor's degree in Communication Design at SIU Carbondale.
I've been an artist since I learned how to hold a pencil. Colorable kids menus were the most exciting part of going out to eat. I was introduced to the world of design at 13. This is when I started creating the t-shirt designs for my school orchestra (a gig I kept until graduating). While I primarily work in the digital space, I'm still a traditional artist as well! I have an endless passion for art and thrive on creativity.

My Skills
Adobe Illustrator
Expert
My program of choice! I'm extremely competent when it comes to Illustrator. I'm quick and efficient; I feel like I could do anything in this program.
Adobe Photoshop
Advanced
Most of the work I do in Photoshop is basic editing. This includes retouching, color grading, and resizing. But I also use it for mocking up designs!
Adobe InDesign
Intermediate
Most of my experience in InDesign consists of either creating templates for images and text or making layouts for multi-page prints.
Figma
Advanced
I have experience prototyping apps and websites suited for multiple breakpoints. I create functional designs with unique, engaging animations
